The lighthouse is Lees Scar, or more affectionately known locally as 'Tommy Legs', and assists sea-faring vessels navigating the docks at Silloth. It's nickname is said to be after a former keeper by the name of Tom Geddes. A solar-powered green flashing light has replaced the original light that warned sailors of the dangerous submerged reef of Lees Scar.

I wanted to capture mood and atmosphere of the Tommy legs looking out over a sombre Solway while showing the distant rain on the Scottish side.
