This painting was inspired by a circular ramble from Askham Village via the view point above Pooley Bridge and then down to Helton, Whale and back via Lowther Castle woods

The weather was blustery with fast moving clouds over a slate grey sky swollen with snow and sleet, some of which had already fallen overnight onto the distant higher fells.

I tried to capture the majesty of this dark wild day of dangerous skies with occasional breaks in the cloud that lit up section of the distant landscape. Just my type of weather to be honest.

Who cannot be inspired by scenery like this?

Print sizes to be determined, but if prints are required drop me a line and we can sort something out.
